PGCE Secondary Mathematics, 9+ Years Tutoring

I am an experienced Mathematics teacher at a 11-18 Secondary school based in Surrey, where I teach a range of abilities and age groups. I believe that my tutees benefit most from a mastery approach when it comes to the basics of Mathematics. The aim is to developing confidence as it is the key to sucess at all levels, and opens doors to more complex problems. I believe in a supported approach to problem solving, that encourages students to experiment and make mistakes while being given guidance and reassurance. My main drive as a teacher/tutor is to change the mindset of a student who is struggling with their Maths, to increase their knowledge of the subject and ultimately boost their confidence.
